Publisert 5. jan.. 2021
Pro chef Palak Patel from The Institute of Culinary Education and home cook Shariff are swapping materials and hoping for the best! We set Shariff up with a selection of the finest ingredients from chef Palak’s kitchen, along with her recipe for $104 dosas. Food scientist Rose was once again on hand to dial in for a tutorial teleconference when things got a bit overwhelming. Meanwhile over with chef Palak, a relatively modest $17 worth of ingredients were being tweaked and augmented while elevating Shariff’s recipe to gourmet status. Whose dosas reigned supreme?

  • I want to do that for the first time in 11y of marriage to a Sri Lankan too.

  • Being indian ..even 17 dollar is too much for the dish.

  • Ok so my mom is a pro chef 👩‍🍳 because she uses all the ingredients 👁👄👁

  • they’re both so lovely!!!

  • For Indians even the 104$ dish Ingredients are easily available in the pantry or local grocery store. And pretty standard recipe too. Which one can find for around 200INR HERE. I mean not her fault obviously those ingredients aren't local to USA. But man 🙈

  • He was pronouncing her name 'pālak' instead of palak, And 'Pālak' means spinach in hindi😂

  • her name means Spinach Patel in Telegu

  • So my mom's home-made dosa is costly, got it.

  • Ummm u dosa is best when sasta sundar tikauu lol

  • 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣The reality is here in india, For making best home made will not cost even $2.... $17 or $104 both are costlier 😛

  • ok, I don't think anyone will be able to see this but, I just got the best advertisement at the best time. 11:57: this smells so good the advertisement: gotta feel so good!

  • is PALAK INDIAN, bcz he pronounced evrything correctly

  • He didn't take the peel off the chana ...too innocent in this bad bad world

  • What is there in 104$ here

  • NONe Of you are indian stop butchering India and Indian food and culture

  • I'm impressed with how well he has done! It is a tough dish and how quickly he has mastered it. Not to mention, next time I will add spinach to my dosa batter too 😋

  • “I think I can elevate these ingredients with my chef magic and turn this into something amazing” Hmm. Why does every pro chef just add whatever ingredients they want instead of ONLY using the home cook’s ingredients? It kinda defeats the purpose of this whole show if they’re not actually undertaking the challenge. It’s like they’re too good to just make something with “normal” ingredients. You don’t see the home cooks leaving stuff out, they venture outside of their comfort zone and that’s what makes things interesting. I want to see what a pro would do with ingredients that we all have, not their own ingredients. Maybe I’m just being too nitpicky, but it bothers me.

  • $104😂😂😂

  • She calls herself Paalak(spinach) instead of Palak . These NRIs always kill Indian names. You can't blame the other guy calling her Paalak!

  • I love the way they edit it . Back and forth from one to other. When one says something and the other explains it. Two very beautiful people.

  • Sharif pronounced dosa correctly while Palak mostly pronounced it wrong. Lol

  • I am so glad Palak used the word "Proud" for Shariff because he mentioned that he needs that compliment from Palak a number of times! This was wholesome.

  • Me eating a simple dosa while watching this 👁👄👁 thinking why my mum couldn't cook that FANCY DOSA for me 😭 sadlyf

  • Every indian be like - this is our turn

  • He keeps calling her paalak which means spinach , which he loves❤️😂!!! I think it's adorable 😂

  • 7:20

  • Palak cooking Paalak :P

  • A 100 dollar dosa.. wow.. that's sacrilegious Almost😂

  • 104 $ for dosa !!?

  • Paalak's recipe is just normal Masala Dosa items

  • Truth - Its definitely cheaper than 3 dollar for a meal of dosas

  • Crepes literally could nevah

  • Palak is so sweet- she even pre-made stuff for Shariff 🥰 and then when she made the perfect dosa lolol

  • Sheriff has the best smile and energy - he just makes me happy 🥰🥰🥰🥰

  • What the heck is this dosa worth 104$ which 7654.03 Rs india this is just crazy🤯

  • Pet peeve: Pronouncing Turmeric as "TUMER-ick". There's a whole other "r" in there!

  • the pro chef looks just like ralph macchio

  • Shariff putted curry leaves with stem.

  • Epicurios post video on Indian food. Indians :- "You summoned us"

  • Do you mean chili

  • HARHARHARHARHAR

  • I had no idea what a dosa was, but I saw Shariff so I clicked.

  • Me freaking outtttttttt

  • 1 Dollar is enough to make Dosa for 6 times at ma home 😂😂

  • 😂😂 Dai Dosa ku 104 Dollar ahh

  • God is amazing

  • Jesus and God loves you

  • Jesus is the only way to heaven

  • Am I the only one who was happy when Shariff failed the first time because when I had tried it for the first time , it looked ridiculous. If his dosa came out good the first time , I was gonna be pissed.

  • So why does her oil look neon green? I know pure avocado oil isn't neon green nor is EV olive oil.

  • So you're telling me I've been eating dosas worth $100+ every other week?

  • Who else thinks 17 dollars is a lot too We usually eat dosas of 1 or 2 bucks sometimes even less than $1

  • Shariff is such a nice human being. So humble and kind! Love him!

  • I just had dosa today .. it was from a very good udipi restaurant nearby by ... For less than a dollar...

  • That $104 dosa sells for less than $1 in India. Trust me. You people are paying way more for a Dosa.

  • is anybody noticing that the pro chefs *have* to say the lines, "I have some simpler ingredients to work with his/her recipe, and you can find these in your local grocery store." it's really funny that those chefs look so sad and mad because of the "different" ingredients 😂🤣😂🤣.

  • make kimchi

  • Do something vegan

  • When Shariff added the Curry leaves with the stem on, I wheezed so hard. My Indian mom would've yeeted him out of the kitchen

  • It is not palak 😭😭 palak in Hindi is this 🥬🥬🥬🥬

  • In 15 seconds I'm already disappointed she said it wrong

  • The women chef look like Priya from BBT.

  • 7:32 Sharif is so happy that he got the correct consistency 😃

  • What the hell I need just some dosa batter and tomato and onion+ chillies for chutney and that won't be even 10 dollars😂

  • i love sharrif's energy

  • You can literally eat that 104 $ recipe 104 times in india😂. And if you want to prepare this at home. You can prepare 1004 dosas at home literally😂... But the most shocking thing is that how expensive are that basic raw materials and vegetables in America. In india you can literally buy 50 kg of raw veggies. And the most interesting fact is you can just borrow that stuff from your neighbours if you don't want to buy😂😂😂

  • I was hoping the $117 dosa would to be more elaborate ! This indian dosa costs less than $3 ! And it's absolutely delicious and savoury nolong.info/show/aJiffYupi9eZjqM/video.html

  • Is anyone else here an Indian who's laughing at their pronunciation of DOSA?

  • I eat dosa everyday

  • When he says palak. It actually means spinach in Hindi. Paa-luck The girl's name is pronounced as puh-luck (it means Eye lashes & lid)

  • Wow they amount of ingredients for the 104 is massive

  • I want a chef vs chef battle

  • Dude those ingredients cost about 3-5 dollars in India

  • I’m the 1,000th comment

  • Only Indians can make good dosa

  • Am I the only one bothered by the way he put the curry leaves and onion in the potato sabji😑

  • Even if we buy all those ingredients it won't cost 100 dollars.... 10-20 dollars is the max it could ever cost even if you take all of her ingredients.... I guess it's just expensive coz it's imported there......

  • We Indians eat it for 1 dollar when its street food and at most 4 to 5 dollars if its extremely hygienic and from a fancy restaurant 🤣🤣🤣🤣

  • What cookware is Chef Palak using? Those white pans are purty

  • Sharifs kitchen is very beautiful

  • Sheriff chose wrong pan

  • 104 dollars dosa wtf

  • Anyone watching this from kerala😎?

  • Coming from the steak video, i was disappointed that in this one the chef added a lot of ingredients rather than showing off their skill as a chef with a smaller simpler ingredient list

  • palak's hair down. Perfection.

  • Fun fact - Spinach is called paalak in hindi Palak also means eyelids

  • She uses a lot of extra ingredients

  • It is so funny watching him trying to cook it

  • 104 for what? Same dosa is easily available in 50 cents

  • The ingredients for the pro chef are found in every Indian home

  • Where frank?

  • Hey these are Indian dish’s but I don’t remember them being 104 dollars..

  • Great to see something so familiar as a Tamil ❤️

  • Frank Prato is the best

  • coconut chutney isn't supposed to be spicy.
