Publisert 16. des.. 2020
Pro chef Chris Cheung from East Wind Snack Shop and home cook Emily are swapping materials and hoping for the best! We set Emily up with a selection of the finest ingredients from chef Chris’s kitchen, along with his recipe for a $135 batch of dumplings. With some unfamiliar ingredients and plenty of questions to accompany them, food scientist Rose dialed in for a tutorial teleconference to help Emily along the way. Meanwhile over with chef Chris, a much more modest $13 worth of ingredients were being finessed up to gourmet status while making dumplings without his usual arsenal. Tune in and find out whose dumplings came out on top!

  • Well done! Now I want dumplings🤤.

  • “Don’t go past 2”. “Sounds like it’s screaming”. 🤣

  • It’s the resignation on Emily’s face when she says “And now I’m required to cook them” that makes me both laugh and want to hug her.

  • I love these, i always want them to swap at the end and try the others dish instead of eating what they made.

  • this man looks like elon musk

  • I'm so used to watching Emily as level 1 chef that watching her do level 2 chef thing feels refreshing.

  • What would gordon ramsay say bout them dishes lol

  • Wait I don't understand this series... she's a homecook but the dumplings are $13? Total ingredient cost? Or does she actually charge her family for each dumpling?

  • Can we see rose throw it down in the kitchen please

  • The "I gotta go lay down" got me haha when the food so good you gotta nap and think on it haha

  • Emily is so funny and swet and is fun to watch in the kitchen and we love the rose talks.

  • How come they both have the same exact soy sauce but one cost $1.43 and the other cost $7.95? Caught you lying, Epicurious.

  • My only issue with these videos is the pro chefs never just use the ingredients their given instead they add some or swap out some so for example this video isn't $13 its more like $20+. I want to see them use the ingredients their given nothing more, nothing less.

  • What restaurant does chef works at because I NEED to go eat his cookinggggg*0* !!!!!

  • Will someone even mention that this idea was ripped out of buzzfeed’s videos...and also they ripped the kids try from HiHo kids, this is just ripped off, I’m sorry but I’m going to dislike this.

  • You da man Chris! Chef of the future!!

  • I actually enjoy seeing pro chefs cook with like normal household ingredients instead of a bunch of crazy exotic stuff that isn't easy for most people to acquire

  • again with the fake acting... you can't be in one video answering "ask the experts" questions and saying you're chef level 1 or 2, while on another video you act like a clueless home chef who can't even say scallions

  • I'm sorry but this was the worst home cook VS Pro chef... Go watch some others to redeem this series..

  • This pro chef has more techniques than another pro chef who makes Uncle Roger has to put his leg down

  • Why didn't they feature Chris as level 3 chef in the other level 1-3 dumpling video?

    • they took the video down LOL

  • Why didn't this chef make the dumpling video?

    • they took the video down LOL

  • I wanna see the pro chef actually make the least expensive food instead of them putting their own spin on it

  • skalop

  • The cute funny white girl 😍🤣🤣🤣

  • 0:37 ❤️

  • Am I the only one that can see Chris’ disappointment with the look of Emily’s dumplings and his mention of it being her first time? 👀

  • "$13 dumplings" *swaps out normal cheap vinegar for $9 bottle of vinegar almost doubling the price*

  • I LAUGHED SO MUCH WHEN I HEARD, “thank you for the dumplings wrappers but-“ and when I saw the ingredients I knew what was coming

  • what store did they go to where Chinkiang vinegar costs over $8?!?!
